Belchertown Day School also has a before and after school program offering care for children who attend Belchertown Public Schools in grades K-6th grade. Children can attend either the before school or after school or both programs, depending on the needs of the family and the availability of enrollment. Children who are enrolled also are able to attend full days during school vacations, some school closures, half days and the summer. (Contact us to learn more about how to enroll)
Our director, Laura Charron and her staff design a fun, caring and educational environment for the older children in our program. Transportation is provided from the public school system for any child enrolled. Our staff work closely with the school department in order to match the school calendar and provide continuity of care.
Children in the School Age Program enjoy the freedom of choice and open-ended play. Their school days are filled with challenging expectations and limited movement. Our BSP and ASP give children the opportunity to move and engage in free play. The group leaders create an environment where there is structure, but within that structure the children have the freedom to choose what activities they participate in. The large indoor space is divided into areas where children can engage in everything from computer time, dramatic play, creative arts, building and engineering and more! Our outdoor space is the pride of our program, offering space to enjoy the varying New England weather all year round.
